Tasks Description:

  1. Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facility's geographic location and:
  • The Global Operating System Plays;
  • OHSAS 18001: Health and Safety management system standard;
  • ISO 14001: Environmental Management system standard;
  • TS 16949 Technical Specification Management and Linamar Quality Basics system standards.
  1. Support, Foster, Promote and Demonstrate Linamar's Core Values and Leadership Behaviors.
  2. Assist in maintaining balance between customer, employee and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility/department Performance Indicators to align to Linamar's Stepping Stool of Success Strategy.
  3. Support and maintain department lean initiatives as set out in LPS system requirements.
  • Maintain department 5S requirements.
  1. Work with production planning to set shop priorities and ensure all required tools and documentation required in the plant for production run jobs are available.
  2. Investigate and monitor new machinery and equipment and recommend or select efficient combinations.
  3. Conduct time studies to optimize cycle counts of existing processes.
  4. Assist in defining the plant lay-out and enhance ergonomic requirements by establishing programs and conducting studies.
  5. Support in planning and executing of projects related to new and pre-existing production lines, improvements, upgrades, layouts, and new equipment related to machining or assembly.
  6. Attend Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  7. Recognize and resolve tooling related difficulties with existing and new projects while working with the manufacturing support staff.
  8. Support the interface with suppliers of raw materials and tools to establish engineering requirements for start of production.
  9. Investigate and find resolution of specific processing problems for assigned projects/parts.
  10. Conduct studies of the reliability and performance of plant facilities and productions or administrative systems,
  11. Develop and review all processes and operator instructions to ensure accuracy and conformance to actual procedures; revise as needed.
  12. Participate in corrective action to meet ongoing cost, quality, and delivery.
  13. Support the development of process flows, process sheets, FMEA's, and control plans.
  14. Ensure the process is capable of producing parts in print specifications.
  15. Assist in the recognition and resolution of process related difficulties with current and future projects.
  16. Assist in the preparations of quotations.
  17. Participate in Customer Focus Meetings.
  18. Assist in training shop floor personnel in machine set-up, equipment operations, and best practices.

Adhere to TS16949 and applicable customer standards.
