Job Title: Desktop and System Support Technician, Intermediate

Job Summary

The Desktop and System Support Technician is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the operating system server environment and installing system software upgrades including planning and scheduling, testing and coordination. In addition, this role involves performing workstation and server administration set up while coordinating disk space planning and management.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assignments from the Service Desk efficiently and effectively within assigned priority to meet Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Troubleshoot, setup, install and resolve IT related equipment issues and identify patterns/big picture problems & solutions
  • Prepare regular and special reports and analyze within prescribed guidelines
  • Communicate with suppliers, or colleagues outside the immediate work area to exchange necessary information
  • Maintain software and hardware on desktops at Salford Group's facilities including (but not limited to) Office Automation software, Anti-Virus, PC management software, ensuring licensed software is used within Salford Group's Facilities and the information is maintained in the licensing database
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues when necessary, offering support, training, and sharing knowledge, while also working autonomously on assigned tasks
  • Support unique systems such as local PM system, QA equipment, and other software or hardware
  • Administer local phone system (including paging, voice mail, moves-adds-changes)

Academic/Educational Requirements

  • A post-secondary education in any I.T Systems related field of studies is preferred

Required Skills/Experience

  • 3-5 years of related I.T Support experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office, Dell Desktop and Notebook hardware and fundamental understanding of VLANS Networking
  • ITIL and ITSM knowledge is preferred
