Line Set-Up
The Line Set-Up position, under general supervision, is responsible for the set-up, calibration, and operation of machines used in production processes. Primarily accountable for inspecting machining operations and finished product against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools. In addition, determine and correct more complex machine malfunctions ensuring routine maintenance and cleaning.

Performance Expectations
· Set-up and troubleshoot machines in a safe and productive manner.
· Examine “out of tolerance” conditions and make adjustments.
· Work to continuously improve all areas of productivity and reduce scrap.
· Provide direct supervision to operators in the absence of the supervisor.
· Train and assist operators with troubleshooting as needed and work in a team environment.
· Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
· Transpose measurements from scale drawings into machine operating code.
· Program CNC machine tools.
· Read computer-generated profile views of a piece being made in order to adjust the tooling appropriately.
· Determine when to reset a machine if it is not cutting within tolerance levels, and how to adjust or to change machine settings to improve the quality of pieces.
· Ability to refer to programming manuals to program machines.
· Able to use a computer to confirm measurements or adjust computer control (CNC) machinery, such as the Maho machine.
Credentials
· High School Diploma or equivalent general education.
· Minimum two years of Machine Operator experience.
· Able to read, interpret and react to CMM reports.
· Able to Interpret blueprints.
· Full knowledge of CNC programming for lathes, mills and grinders

· Able to interact with supervisors to take direction on job assignments, to seek clarification on unclear drawings or job instructions and to seek help when problems arise.
· Ability to work independently and in a team as needed with various department personnel.
· Ability to learn new specifications and procedures through on-the-job training and experience.
