Description:

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Operations Coordinator is responsible for providing support in the coordination of scheduling, payroll and operations programs and activities at our Guelph location. In office role 5 days per week; please note this is a contract position from November 2024- February 2026.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate vacation and timekeeping/payroll for hourly staff (Packaging, Maintenance, Brewing, Quality and Warehouse)
  • Track and arrange for coverage of absence, gradual return to work requirements, vacation, floater days, or for projects or shutdowns, while ensuring alignment with collective agreement and regulatory requirements and minimizing overtime.
  • Act as site Dayforce super-user. Provide related support and advice to front line supervisory staff as necessary.
  • Coordinate time keeping for hourly staff (Packaging, Maintenance, Brewing, Quality and Warehouse) by entering hours to system, identifying issues, making manual adjustments, and following up with departmental supervisors, employees, to clarify or resolve issues.
  • Work closely with Payroll to enter new work rules for employees and ensure accuracy of employee payments.
  • Track and book vacation for maintenance, packaging and admiral warehouse hourly staff. Work with supervisors to coordinate approvals.
  • Process vacation approvals in accordance with all collective agreement rules.
  • Support adherence to quality and food safety standards as required.
  • Organize or work with organizer to complete administrative tasks associated with Operations employee events.
  • Perform vacation tracking for the Operations department during the summer months.
  • Purchasing of supplies and other small items for the department and maintain purchasing card.
  • Act as backup for the Operations and Health and Safety Coordinator.
  • Provide administrative support for Director of Operations and team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of related administration experience
  • Post-secondary education relevant to operations, warehouse, or distribution administration
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong computer skills with ability to use software such as Microsoft Office; experience using Excel required
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Availability around statutory holidays to meet tight payroll deadlines
  • Ability to demonstrate behaviours that support organizational values
