We are seeking an experienced and innovative Asset Reliability Specialist to lead and optimize maintenance and reliability operations across our nationwide manufacturing facilities. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic maintenance and reliability initiatives, ensuring maximum equipment reliability and operational uptime. This position requires a strong leader with exceptional strategic planning, communication, and technical skills to drive continuous improvement in our maintenance and reliability practices.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: #LI-Onsite #LI-RM1

  • Reliability Strategy Deployment: Implement and cascade Reliability and Industry 4.0 methodologies across all facilities to proactively identify and mitigate risks related to capacity, quality, food safety, cost, and compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including maintenance managers, supervisors, technicians, planners, schedulers, and storekeepers, to provide expert guidance, coaching, and support in achieving maintenance and reliability objectives.
  • Utilization of Advanced Tools: Leverage Reliability Centered Maintenance tools such as Root Cause Analysis, Reliability Modeling, FMEA, Failure Reporting, and Statistical Process Control to enhance equipment reliability and performance. Utilize key performance indicators, engineering approaches, the CMMS, and historical data to drive improvements.
  • Standardization and Consistency: Support the deployment of the BIMBO Canada Asset Management Plan, ensuring consistency, standardization, and efficiency across all facilities through the implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Equipment Inspections and Assessments: Conduct regular on-site inspections and assessments to identify maintenance needs and opportunities for improvement, with a focus on maximizing reliability and minimizing downtime. This role involves travel to various locations.
  • Master Data Management: Oversee master data activities related to equipment hierarchy, criticality, registration/deregistration of assets, spare parts management, PM program strategy, and documentation control.
  • Capital Project Support: Collaborate with CAPEX Engineering teams to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations. Provide input on equipment strategy.
  • Long-Term Asset Planning: Lead the Long-Term Asset Replacement Plan, addressing high-risk critical bakery assets by evaluating performance, capacity, capability, maintainability, asset age, health and food safety, and obsolescence.
  • Predictive Maintenance Program: Develop and manage a cost-effective Predictive Maintenance program, incorporating non-destructive technologies to improve equipment uptime and overall performance.
  • Safety and Quality Culture: Foster a culture of safety, quality, and accountability within the maintenance organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on maintenance and reliability performance, challenges, and ongoing initiatives.
  • Machine Safety and Fire Prevention: Drive machine safety and fire prevention initiatives across all sites, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Failure Elimination Programs: Promote and implement Failure Elimination Programs, targeting both short-term actions and long-term solutions.
  • Technical Skill Development: Support the technical skill development of maintenance personnel through training, webinars, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance their expertise.

PREFERRED HIRING CRITERIA:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical or electrical preferred. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Certification as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) would be an asset.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in maintenance & reliability management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of leadership and success in developing and implementing maintenance & reliability strategies and programs.
  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment and systems, including mechanical and electrical. Control systems (PLC) and industrial networks are a plus.
  • Knowledge of building infrastructure maintenance tasks, as well as utilities for the operation.
  • Experience managing remote teams and multiple facilities.
  • Working knowledge of Maximo or other maintenance management system software.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Use of six sigma or green belt methodology tools is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, develop innovative solutions, and drive results.
  • Effective presentation skills both formally and informally.
  • Must be knowledgeable and be able to follow GMPs, Food Safety and Health and Safety requirements.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office, Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience with food processing, CFIA and HACCP would be an asset.
  • Bi-Lingual (English & French) is a must for the role.
