Position Overview #LI-Onsite #LI-RM1

The Senior Manager, Logistics for Ontario will play a key leadership role in driving logistics and distribution activities, overseeing operations, and managing execution and cost efficiency across the region. Reporting to the Vice President, Planning & Logistics, this position will lead a diverse team, including seven direct reports, 15+ salaried associates, and approximately 150 hourly associates across unionized and non-unionized environments spanning multiple distribution centers and depots throughout Ontario. #LI-Onsite #LI-RM1

This leader will prioritize safety, demonstrate and drive supply chain excellence, and provide transformational leadership, contributing to Bimbo Canada's ongoing modernization initiatives, including the implementation of automation and enhanced WMS systems. By collaborating closely with cross-functional teams—particularly Field Sales and Operations—the Senior Manager will lead change management efforts and inspire teams to achieve sustainable success across our integrated supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Regional Logistics Operations

o Lead teams and manage operations across the distribution and warehouse network, ensuring daily activities are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with performance goals across Ontario.

  • Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

o Review existing logistics processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions to enhance performance, reduce costs, and increase agility.

  • Strategic Collaboration

o Partner with Manufacturing, Forecasting, Sales, Customer Service, and Production Planning to align logistics strategies with broader business goals and deliver superior customer service.

  • Budgeting & Cost Management

o Develop and manage operational budgets, monitor costs, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to support long-term business goals.

  • Customer-Centric Approach

o Interact with key customers and support sales initiatives to ensure exceptional service delivery and alignment with customer needs.

  • Lean & Scalable Operations

o Ensure that logistics frameworks are efficient, cost-effective, and scalable to accommodate future growth.

  • Continuous Improvement Leadership

o Lead initiatives to improve supply chain performance, mentor team members in problem-solving techniques, and drive a culture of accountability and excellence.

  • Data-Driven Decision-Making

o Oversee the preparation of reports and analyses, track variances, and implement corrective actions to address operational challenges.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field required; advanced training or certifications preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive supply chain experience in CPG, food and beverage, or similarly high-volume industries (DSD environment an asset).
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams in unionized and non-unionized environments.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with manufacturing, sales, and forecasting teams.
  • Track record of effectively representing organizations in customer-facing roles.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Operational Expertise:

o Demonstrated success in transitioning strategic goals into actionable operational plans across distribution and warehousing operations.

o Strong knowledge of ERP systems, Lean methodologies, and Agile practices.

o Skilled in change management and fostering collaboration across operational and customer facing teams.

o Ability to thrive in a transformative environment and motivate teams to adapt to new processes and technologies.

  • Results-Oriented

o Goal-driven and focused on advancing initiatives, achieving targets, and fostering engagement through clear objectives and empowerment.

  • Critical Skills:

o Strong analytical and business acumen with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

o Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

o A resourceful, problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering results.

o Proficiency in Value Stream Mapping and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) is a plus.
