From its mills in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Acton, Hanover, Hamilton and Cambridge, Ontario; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Lethbridge, Alberta, the P&H Milling Group supplies flour to customers throughout Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Iceland, and Pacific Rim countries.
We are currently looking for a motivated, forward-thinking, and dedicated individual to join our Milling division as a Junior Head Miller in Hanover, Ontario.
As Junior Head Miller, the successful candidate will be responsible for milling related activities, ensuring that the tasks are properly executed as per company's standards. This position will primarily oversee, support, and provide guidance to the mill, including position coverage as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise milling operations with Head Miller, assisting with training, inspections and
contributing to continuous improvement projects in a meaningful way.
Monitor, control and focus on improving efficiencies of the mill through communication,
troubleshooting, and working with staff.
Ensure all mills are running optimally and will assist hourly millers in daily mill
performance checks.
Plan and prepare for sanitation work orders and mill maintenance during provided
downtime.
Help provide coverage for the Production Supervisor and Head Miller.
Organize and maintain flour sieves and milling consumable parts.
Assist during downtime with heat treatments, cleaning and sifter maintenance.
Maintain a safe working environment and a high standard of housekeeping and
sanitation in accordance with BRCGS (Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards)and Food Safety procedures.
Position Requirements
Secondary School Diploma.
Minimum of 4 years milling experience.
A Diploma, Certificate, or Advanced Certificate in Flour Milling would be an asset.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends.
Competent communication skills, both oral and written.
Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
Scheduling production experience would be an asset.
Compensation, Conditions, and Benefits
Permanent, full-time position
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour depends on experience
40 hours of work per week
Overtime pay is applicable after 44 hours of work per week
