We’re looking for full-time Assemblers @ Kingston production site, could it be you?

Your future role

As a member of the production team, you are responsible to assemble various components to complete the assembly of the train car body.

While interacting daily with co-workers, quality inspectors, team leaders, supervisors, and managers, all activities will be performed according to EHSS procedures and rules in place.

You’ll be responsible for

  • Complying and enforcing Alstom EHSS policies and rules
  • Installing and assembling railway vehicle (car body) components using standard work procedures, hand & power tools
  • Monitoring the production process and complete tally sheet on the MRP tool
  • Carrying out basic testing and quality checks
  • Handling, storing, packing goods and raw materials in the factory or the warehouse

We’ll look to you for

  • To be proficient at mechanical and electrical work such as drilling, gluing, fitting as well as using test equipment
  • To provide technical leadership and make recommendations on appropriate preventative and corrective actions
  • To work closely with support functions to identify and propose suggestions for continuous improvement
  • To cross reference technical documents and highlight any discrepancies

  • Formal training combined with relevant experience in manufacturing/mechanical assembly preferred
  • EHS champion
  • Ability to read technical schematics and blueprints
  • Strong supporter of teamwork with good communication skills
  • Minimal exposure to lean manufacturing assembly process
