What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role you will:

• supervise and lead the contract costing and estimating process for the Ministry
• provide authoritative advice and guidance on contract estimating
• participate in the Section's planning, decision making, change, review and problem solving
• ensure the usefulness, efficiency and effectiveness of IT applications for operational purposes

How do I qualify?

Technical Skills:

• You have comprehensive expertise in estimating operations to provide expert advice.
• You have knowledge of the principles and applications of highway contract related technology (e.g. civil, electrical, structural and architectural) and materials, testing, principles, practices, standards and trends.

Communications and Relation Management Skills:

• You have demonstrated oral and written communication skills to prepare policies, correspondence and reports, make presentations and provide interpretation and advice.
• You have highly developed relationship management skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Monitoring and Supervisory Abilities:

• You have demonstrated supervisory and administrative skills to provide efficient and effective leadership.
• You have work planning and prioritizing skills to achieve critical deadlines.

Analytical Skills:

• You have attention to detail, analytical, evaluation and problem solving skills to ensure that costs are the most appropriate and economical.
