The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.

Summary of position:

Reporting to the Vice President, Central Region, Landing Gear Division, the Plant Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, supervising and controlling all activities of his/her site in a manner that ensures the highest possible levels of profitability, productivity, quality and on time delivery while maintaining a positive and safe work environment.

Working in a dynamic environment rich in operational complexity, we are seeking to find a plant Plant Manager who is talented, creative and above all motivated to significantly contribute to the company's progress.

The chosen individual will have a significant expertise in an environment where modern operations management is present (LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma, etc.). The incumbent will have to be familiar with managing growth and introducing new machining technologies. Knowledge and proven experience of business development and CNC machining will be essential assets. The candidate will demonstrate a strong entrepreneurial sense, experience with setting and implementation of business strategies, manage client contracts and customer service as well as a sound financial understanding.

Main responsibilities:

• Create step by step production plans with his/her production team.
• Assure that materials and equipment used are well maintained and utilized in a productive and appropriate manner.
• Work with the Vice President, Landing Gear Division, to analyze contracts and their impact on production.
• Establish a business growth and manufacturing strategy as well as providing guidance in order to optimize the operating profit and ensure short and long term performance; Evaluate performance actuals against goals and determines ways to enhance actuals. Plans and executes improvement initiatives. Establishes administrative controls what will ensure the attainment and enhancement of these goals.
• The General Manager will distinguish themself by their overall vision and good judgement. The incumbent will also be responsible on the profitability (P & L) of all operations and will be a driving force in the growth of the company.
• Improve/Optimize operations process (doing the right things the right way) in connection with the strategic plan of the organization;
• Lead and develop its team to make it fully united and efficient;
• Promote the values of the company: Respect-Responsibility-Resilience-Recognition;
• Ensure sound management of all operations (production, maintenance, logistics, quality, administration) by relying on the best practices of the market and by being on the forefront of innovation in terms of methods and technologies;
• Mobilize human resources with organizational goals and ensure development of talents accordingly.
• Efficiently manage operation and investment budget and maximize the return on assets for which he is responsible.
• Create and maintain a secure work environment for all employees;
• Ensure the monitoring of performance indicators ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction;
• Develop and implement strategies and action plans (quality, on time delivery, cost)
• Ensure constructive relationships with external partners;
• Maintain good business relations with customers and develop a professional network within the community;
• Align the Company's strategies with the market's opportunities, motivate the team and support Management in setting priorities;
• Ensure health, safety and site security requirements are respected.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience, including a minimum of eight (8) in a leadership position within a complex manufacturing environment, ideally aerospace.
• Excellent communicator with motivating and innovative leadership skills, showing both managerial courage and equity;
• Capable of mobilizing and developing different teams in order to achieve business results and support the growth of the company.
• Entrepreneurial drive, shown in successful assignments in a profit center;
• Individual oriented towards results and showing a very good capacity of self-motivation and self-management;
• Sense of initiative and creativity;
• Good business development capacity in a technological niche;
• Strong command of the English language both written and spoken.
• Solid, progressive manufacturing experience at a managerial level.
• Familiar with JIT, lean manufacturing and MRP manufacturing systems.
