You as a Manager, M&E Commissioning will:

  • As a Commissioning Project Manager you are responsible for managing, planning, coordination and successful execution of the Commissioning scope of work for the project. Performs all functions and responsibilities in consonance with the company's values and beliefs.
  • Participate in all aspects of the commissioning process including assisting with the development and execution of the project commissioning plan in conjunction with 3rd Party and Owner Commissioning Team(s) including chairing internal commissioning meetings and be the primary contact concerning all commissioning related items.
  • Plan the commissioning components of a construction project from design to execution and coordinate all commissioning activities to be added/tracked in the construction schedule in conjunction with the Senior MEP Manager, Construction Manager, Site Superintendent, Trade Partners & 3rd Party/Owner's Commissioning Team(s).
  • Review and confirm accurate billings for the commissioning components of the job to ensure timely payment of subcontractor billings as related to commissioning activities and completion.
  • Monitor and review in conjunction with the Senior MEP Manager, a project's static & dynamic testing processes and completion statuses for commissioning components/activities and assure accurate, timely, and quality reporting is being conducted and appropriately cataloged.
  • Review architectural, mechanical and electrical changes received from the architect from a commissioning perspective to ensure they are complete, up to project standards and coordinated into the commissioning program.
  • Provide expert advice and proactively report on the commissioning program delivery and performance, utilizing available tools and information while maintaining detailed, accurate and up to date records of site infrastructure, plant and equipment including product and technical information.
  • Plan the project commissioning components of a construction project, prepare and Lead project commissioning meetings, determining the status of the job in terms of scheduling and execution and solve complex technical issues
  • Provide a focal point liaison for the Client on all aspect of the commissioning process and operational service including managing & participating in the commissioning program/processes during the first year of operation (post-substantial completion) up to and including deferred testing, seasonal performance testing, training and warranty items.
  • Constantly review the department's workload to achieve a cost effective and quality service
  • Establish necessary policies, procedures, action plans, critical indicators, timetables and performance measures to guarantee high quality services and timely deliverables to the customer
  • Follow up on open commissioning deficiencies/Items of Concern and drive them to closure
  • Review checklists to ensure the facility commissioning activities may be accomplished
  • Work collaboratively with architectural/electrical/mechanical/controls subcontractors to ensure project and team success concerning the project's commissioning program.
  • Identify and develop areas of continuous improvement to achieve and better Key Performance Indicators and maintain an overall high level of service delivery

Is this the right role for you?

  • Experienced in the commissioning program management of the projects end to end i.e. scope development, spec development, tendering review and evaluation, managing contractor installation, quality review, project close out, etc
  • You have eight to ten experience in Mechanical and Electrical commissioning including a solid technical/knowledge background concerning BAS, Air & Water Balancing, ASHRAE, LEED and Systems Integration.
  • You have a full understanding and proven experience with maintenance and life-cycle budgeting and are technically competent in understanding statutory and mandatory compliances and legislation
  • Experienced in the management of the commissioning process of the projects end to end i.e. scope development, spec development, tendering review and evaluation, managing contractor installation, quality review, project close out, etc
  • Experienced in managing various projects with a total budget valued at approx $2m+ annually
  • Experienced manager with proven skills in construction
  • Industrial, Hospital/Health Care, ICI construction experience would be considered an asset
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload with limited supervision
