HVAC Control System Designer

As an HVAC Control System Designer here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing HVAC control systems for various projects. You will utilize your expertise in HVAC systems and controls to develop innovative solutions that enhance energy efficiency, comfort, and sustainability. You will report directly to our Sr. Application Engineering Supervisor, and you'll work out of our Markham, ON location on a hybrid work schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design building control systems including DDC controller system by selecting the proper combination of hardware, software, equipment, materials and services from the Honeywell product & applications portfolio.
  • Interpret consultant-provided Sequence of Operation and design/develop HVAC control systems for commercial and industrial buildings.
  • Responsible for engineering hardware, as-built details, sequences, creating control drawings, valve sizing, control device selection, damper sizing and schedules.
  • Communicate technical concepts/solutions to internal and external customers, accurately reviewing customer specs, and with the ability to identify opportunities, risks, and resources required to achieve results within the proposal cycle.
  • Review job contract plans, scope and specifications, survey information, sales sketches, estimates and take-off sheets for opportunities and proposals. Clearly define requirements prior to starting engineering.
  • Prepare submittals per engineering standards, ensuring commitment dates are met. Review submittals with project teams to obtain hardware submittal approval.
  • Create estimates for any change orders received on ongoing projects.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
  • 4 years of experience in HVAC controls industry
  • Minimum 2 years of hardware design experience within HVAC controls
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Ability to program sequences once hardware drawings are approved by consultant using functional blocks.
