THE ROLE:

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Lead / Principal Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD's product, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market. The Systems Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development. This role focuses on the SOC IPs involved in AMD Infinity Fabric™ interconnect architecture (IOMMU, ATS Caches, PCIE interfaces).

THE PERSON:

As a SOC Validation Engineer, you will work all aspects of SOC validation from pre-silicon planning and emulation, to post-silicon Power-on, validation, and debug. The focus will be on at-scale validation of SOC level data interconnect technologies targeting concepts such as caching, coherency, and resource arbitration, just to name a few.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a SOC Validation Engineer, you will work all aspects of SOC validation from pre-silicon planning and emulation, to post-silicon Power-on, validation, and debug. The focus will be on at-scale validation of SOC level data interconnect technologies targeting concepts such as caching, coherency, and resource arbitration, just to name a few.

  • Owning and executing end to end validation plan for datacenter projects for Internal IPs.
  • Develop procedures for validation and debug
  • Debugging issues found during the process, bring-up, validation, and production phases of SOC programs
  • Working with multiple teams, and tracking test execution to make sure all features are validated and optimized on time
  • Driving innovation to improve validation automation, including automating test cases to run in at-scale automation environments.
  • Leading collaborative approach with multiple teams
  • Develop automation code in Python
  • Hands-on execution on datacenter platforms for test and debug
  • Technical reporting to communicate program status
  • Continuous improvements to time-to-market and time-to-quality

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working with MMU, Caches, Coherency.
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and pronounced attention to details
  • Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion
  • Must have strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Extensive knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy
  • Strong Computer Architecture Fundamentals (Caches, FIFOs, FSM, RB, etc.)
  • Programming/scripting skills (e.g. C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python)
  • Debug techniques and methodologies
  • Extensive Linux knowledge is an assert.
  • Experience developing HPC/ML applications or HW exercisers is an asset
  • Experience in Datacenter Industry a valuable asset

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering
