THE ROLE:

We are looking for an adaptive, self-motivated expert systems engineer to join our growing team. As a key member of the team, you will leverage your strong technical background to contribute to all aspects of the client project development with a focus on X86 system level feature enablement, testing and debug. You will be responsible for the full complement of AMD's CPU and APU system designs, developing features and driving continuous improvement in all areas.

THE PERSON:

You're a highly motivated team player with a strong hardware development background, problem solving mentality, excellent communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks along with willingness to learn and adapt. You possess excellent collaboration skills and capability to work independently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • End-to-end post-silicon activities related to power, performance and system features in CPU/APU products
  • Debugging and solving system-level issues that may occur in test environments and platforms
  • Drive system features enablement, validation and debug through collaboration with internal stakeholders (silicon design, architecture, firmware, software, etc.)
  • Proactively drive improvements on quality

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Hands-on hardware design, development and debug experience on X86 or embedded system designs
  • Direct experience and subject matter expertise in digital processing, computer architecture and power / thermal management
  • Knowledgeable in high-speed interface i.e. DDR, PCIE
  • Programming experience in C, Python or other scripting languages
  • Independent execution, exceptional communication and strong analytical capabilities

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science
    or related field strongly preferred
