Canadian Base Operators' Meaford's team is growing! If you are a committed and collaborative professional looking to contribute to a hard-working, innovative team, this opportunity is for you. We are currently looking for an experienced Transportation/Roads and Grounds Manager.

The Transportation/R&G Manager oversees the Transportation and Roads & Grounds staff and ensures the effective implementation and administration of the LFCA TC Meaford contract, achieving the required performance across all assigned areas. The primary contractual responsibilities include: personnel and cargo transportation, provision of heavy equipment, conducting accident investigations, issuing DND 404 Driver Permits, and delivering DND driver safety training. Overseeing all aspects of contracted grounds maintenance

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Report to the CBO Site Manager, ensuring all departmental functions and performance are effectively managed.

• Achieve required performance standards, assigned objectives, and financial targets.

• Provide necessary reports promptly.

• Implement and maintain CBO Administrative, Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety management systems.

• Fulfill the duties outlined within these systems.

• Lead departmental staff by supervising performance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and CBO policies

• Provide support through regular feedback, coaching, and disciplinary actions when needed.

• Monitor performance and liaise with service subcontractors as necessary.

• Collaborate with CBO Site Management staff to develop plans and budgets, monitor progress, and resolve issues.

• Act as the point of contact for the DND Project Authority and designated representatives.

• Represent CBO in communication with client staff and the SSMT as directed by the Site Manager.

• Fulfill Transportation Officer duties per DND policies and directives.

• Attend DND conferences and working groups as required.

• Foster cooperation and effective communication within CBO and with client staff.

• Participate in meetings and proactively address and resolve issues.

• Serve as Duty Manager on a rotational basis.

• Perform other tasks as assigned.

• Support and participate in related CBO corporate initiatives as required.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Proficient knowledge and understanding of:

• Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Teams

• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and with minimal direction

*Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance*
