Job Summary

This role requires strong technical knowledge of Bindery work within printing industry, someone who can work in a fast paced Print and Mail Production environment and has the ability to multitask. The successful candidate will perform a wide variety of tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate Baum 20 Pile Feed Folder with right-angle.
• Operate Bell & Howell Mailstar 400 Six-station Inserter.
• Perform all Bindery functions incumbent to Print and Mail Production environments. (e.g. Coil punch, drill, scoring/perforating, padding, shrink wrap, etc.)
• Assist in finishing large format jobs, cutting rigid materials, posters and lamination.
• Set up machines according to job requirements, making sure to meet accuracy and quality standards.
• Identify equipment malfunction and call for service when required.
• Prepares printed materials for inter-office distribution or Neighborhood mail.
• Prepare addressing files for printing; Set up address printer to print envelopes.
• Paper cutting and preparation of materials for production. Return unused paper to storeroom.
• Record accurately all labour time and material used.
• Perform as back up to mail courier drivers when necessary. Full G License required.
• Other tasks may be assigned based on organizational needs.

Skills and Qualifications

• Post secondary diploma.
• Minimum 10 years experience as a Baum PFF20 Floor Model Folder Operator or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years experience as Bell & Howell Mailstar400 Six-Station inserter operator or equivalent.
• Well versed in Folding, Inserting and Mail preparation processes and practices.
• Ability to operate small bindery and mailroom equipment.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a sound ability to communicate with a variety of audiences and using various methods.
• Knowledge in Excel, Streetsweeper and Rembrandt software considered an asset.
• Computer proficiency to maintain records.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Ability to perform manual physical labour (walking, sorting, standing for a sustained period).
• Experience of Digital Printing and Large Format Printing considered an asset.
• Must possess Full G License.

Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 51,800.00 - $ 69,067.00
