This comprises of Manufacturing & Assembly, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain, where highly skilled employees are working on Bombardier's sector-leading Global 5000/6000 and Challenger 350 business aircraft. MHICA's technicians build and join wing assemblies and fuselage sections, as well as perform systems and flight control assembly installations and testing. Scope of Position Reporting to the Director - Quality, the Engineer - Process Improvement will be responsible for Kaizen project implementation and resolving shop problems through root cause analysis and problem-solving methodology. Excellent communication skills and cross functional team approach is essential to work effectively with team members in continuous improvement initiatives. This role provides technical leadership and collaborates with operations to ensure performance targets are achieved. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Drive production issue resolution through detailed analytical reviews on process adhesion, fixture/tooling functionality, and compliance on design intent. Lead kaizen projects with emphasis on safety, cost reduction, targeted cycle time adhesion, quality improvements, and effective change processes. Monitor process and equipment performance to identify continuous improvement opportunities. Strategize goals and targets to meet department objectives. Prepare and present to senior management in department reviews. Technical lead for cross functional teams to troubleshoot product design/process/quality/equipment related issues. Lead process failure investigations to prevent escapes and reoccurrences. Evaluate existing product design and provide suggestion on production easement improvements. Coordinate supplier activities. Investigate and address issues to ensure safety & ergonomic concerns are resolved in a timely manner. Skills and Qualifications Understanding of aircraft design and function (Structural, Mechanics, Pneumatics, Hydraulics and Electrical Systems). Strong problem-solving skills related to complex assembly process including multiple component interfaces and tooling features. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and significantly complex projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results. Leadership skills with proven track record to drive and implement changes. Self-driven and takes ownership of responsibilities. Understanding of current and applicable Aerospace standards and practices. Advanced MS Office skills. Ability to work shifts to accommodate production scheduling. Experience Minimum 5 years' experience in assembly manufacturing (aerospace preferred) with high emphasis on process design, improvements or Kaizen. Experience using statistical and analytical methods such as DOE for problem solving, process optimization, and quality improvements. Experience using Catia and experience doing PFMEA.
