The position is at Honeywell in Mississauga and includes daily collaboration with GPES team members, site leadership, and Celestica, the site contract manufacturer. The GPES team is focused on improving supply chain performance by maintaining and improving designs for products currently in the manufacturing phase. The products are primarily commercial and military aircraft electric power generation/distribution and environmental control systems/sensors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the team in delegated design authority to review and approve Class II product changes including coordination with internal and external customers for their approval and notification.
  • Lead the team in field failure investigations, suspect counterfeit parts investigations, Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions, and dispositions of failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action system (FRACAS).
  • Provide estimates, statements of work, and schedules for various engineering efforts and projects.
  • Attend site Tier 4 and Tier 4.5 meetings with site leaders, representing GPES activity.
  • Ensure coordination with multiple teams of other product design engineers, test design engineers and production staff to resolve issues with product design, modification, upgrades, customer investigations, supplier investigations, obsolescence, and test system design changes.
  • Ensure support of product transitions from development to manufacturing phases and gain design authority delegation.
  • Engage in materials savings projects to reduce manufacturing and repair costs.
  • Support capital purchases initiatives
  • Communicate directly with internal and external customers and suppliers about status on resolutions for problems such as supply chain delivery disruptions, no-fault-found situations, defect escapes, warranty review, and first-year-in-service failures.
  • Support the transition of manufacturing operations responsibilities from Celestica to Honeywell. This transition is scheduled to take place at the start of the second quarter 2025.

The Honeywell facility is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP clearance.
