To ensure DGF Ground Transport pricing commitments, Key Performance Indicators, revenue, & profitability goals are met. Provides market information on Carriers for Sales team and Operations to secure new business. Manage the relationships with the vendors / carriers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving the pricing and procurement of ground related trucking services for domestic Canada as well as Transborder, including Mexico
  • Primary focus on the efficient, qualified, and timely issuance of Ground Freight pricing in order to increase market share and improve the quote success performance
  • Be aware of current market conditions to effectively spot buy products from Ground Freight vendors at a profitable level
  • Identifying the most suitable Ground Freight services in terms of transit time, routing, cost and provider to fit customer and shipment specific requirements
  • Reporting of KPIs relating to quotes and win percentage
  • Running shipment reports to view historical data and rate comparisons
  • Develop strong partnership with Commercial as the subject matter expert and grow new business


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of 3PL Freight brokerage environment
  • Ideally an understanding of Freight forwarding
  • Experience negotiating large volume carrier contracts
  • Experience with Domestic and Cross-Border RFPs (Request for Proposal)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience will all modes of ground transportation
  • Understanding of transportation licensing, permits and insurance requirements
  • Knowledge in Claims and liabilities
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong Negotiation Skills
  • Focused on Customer needs and supports Commercial team in attracting new business
  • Ability to work with current carrier network on securing preferred origin-destination services
  • Ability to manage data and develop reports to ensure the team and business is aware of progress of KPIs.
  • Well developed skill in MS Office, specifically excel
  • Cargowise (TMS) experience is preferred
  • Loadlink experience is required
