Profile

We are currently recruiting for a Stress Engineer to join our team in Mississauga, ON.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform static strength analysis for primary aircraft structure using both classical and FEA techniques.
  • Modify and run aircraft level GFEM to assess internal loads for new aircraft configurations and external load sets.
  • Create detail FE models for determination of applied stress and deformation.
  • Write reports to demonstrate compliance to CAR 525 to support Transport Canada structures delegate.
  • Evaluate aircraft modifications to ensure compliance to approved processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance to In-Service for operator queries.
  • Provide support to drafting group during conceptual and preliminary design phases.
  • Prepare work and status summaries to support program design reviews (PDR, CDR, etc).
  • Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements.
  • Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product.
  • Performs other duties such as Internal Audit Support, Airworthiness containment activities and corrective action implementation.

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years' experience.
  • You have a strong familiarity with industry standard software for finite element modelling You have strong leadership, problem solving, flexibility and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with De Havilland aircraft Dash 8 Series 100, 200, 300 and 400 is a definite asset.
