As a Systems Engineer II - Reliability, Maintainability, and System Safety here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, maintainability, and safety of complex systems and solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize systems that meet the highest standards of performance and safety. Your expertise in reliability engineering, system safety analysis, and maintenance planning will be instrumental in driving innovation and efficiency across various industries.

You will report directly to our Mechanical Design Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Mississauga, ON location on a hybrid work schedule.

The Mechanical Systems and Components (MS&C) division of Honeywell Aerospace is responsible for a wide variety of product lines including environmental control systems, pneumatic valves, actuation systems, and wheels and braking systems. This position would be a part of the Tempe Reliability and System Safety team who supports these various product lines using state of the art software tools. This team applies its expertise and knowledge to technical projects, finding innovative means to improve products, techniques, procedures, and technologies.

The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Safety Analysis:
    • Safety requirements decomposition
    • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
    • Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA)
    • Common Mode Analysis (CMA)
  • Reliability Analysis:
    • Reliability predictions (MTBF, failure rates, MTBUR)
    • Reliability requirements analysis
    • Reliability Block diagrams (series and parallel modeling)
    • Failure Modes and Effects and Analysis (FMEA / FMECA)
    • Weibull analysis
  • Collaborate with design and system engineering teams to assure that product meets customer requirements.
  • Creation and delivery of analytical reports to the customer.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a reliability or system safety role.

WE VALUE

  • Experience with reliability and safety analysis on Design Assurance Level (DAL) A systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Exposure to MIL-STD-882/785
  • Knowledge of aerospace components including actuation systems and environmental control systems
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information
