The Architectural Technologist helps support the Project Team by developing custom drawings for new projects and ensure base building/fire plan drawings are up to date. The Architectural Technologist will assist in creating budgets, workplans, producing schedules and assigning labour to project work. The Architectural Technologist communicates with Executive team members, Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, Structural and Life Safety Consultants, Contractors and Vendors through concept, design, procurement and construction. The job involves:

  • Work with consultants to develop required specification and construction drawings suitable for permit/tender/construction
  • Assist in the coordination of Project related work by delegating tasks to team members to ensure project stays on track
  • Execute multiple projects running simultaneously in various stages of development and/or construction
  • Responsible for managing Project files including base building, liquor, occupancy and life safety updates
  • Support Table Games, Slots, Surveillance, Security, Retail and other departments on layout changes, legal submissions and general building infrastructure information
  • Read and understand the terminology and symbols used in reports, notes, shop drawings and specifications to interpret data and information for use in designing and generating plans
  • 3D scanning and point cloud mapping to digitally capture existing as build features to assist in new project design
  • Works closely with the Project Manager in identifying errors, problems or non-standard situations and suggest alternatives.
  • Coordinate and ensure compliance of all applicable Quality Control/Quality Assurance requirements
  • Builds company reputation through earning trust and loyalty of guests. Shares knowledge and information regarding the organization.
  • Working safely, and adhering to OH&S policies and legislation, compliance and workplace policies, internal control procedures, and AGCO directives
  • Thorough knowledge of all activities and promotions occurring at our casino properties
  • Any other duties as assigned
  • Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation

The ideal candidate has:

  • Auto Cad and Revit is an asset
  • Previous experience with basic building systems, electrical/mechanical/structural and architectural is an asset
  • Familiarity with both electrical & mechanical drafting standards
  • Previous building, retail, office restaurant and bar design experience an asset
  • construction coordination experience an asset
  • Proficient Computer skills (Excel, Word, Project, Auto Cad 2024)
  • Excellent organizational, communication and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and pay strict attention to detail
