About the Job

As the Divisional Controller for the Aggregates & Construction Division, you will provide financial information and analysis to Senior Management, Executives and other stakeholders. You will provide in-depth analysis of financial results and ensure financial information is collected and reported in accordance with Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises ("ASPE"). You will report directly to the Director of Finance, with an indirect reporting relationship to the Executive Vice President of the Aggregates & Construction Division to provide financial support to the Senior Management Team and Divisional Operations Team.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements in accordance with Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises ("ASPE")
  • Provide accurate and timely financial information and variance analysis to Senior Management, Executives and other stakeholders
  • Support the business unit by advising on accounting and finance issues related to current matters and future opportunities and provide support to cross-functional teams
  • Coordinate and assist in the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets, planning processes, and forecasting to help Senior Management analyze anticipated financial results
  • Attend operating and financial review meetings to maintain current business knowledge and provide financial analysis as required
  • Develop a team through active coaching, mentoring, and setting objectives. Identify future training opportunities and design goals to increase performance

Here's What You Need

  • University Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or equivalent and a CPA Designation in good standing
  • Minimum of seven to ten years of accounting and supervisory experience
  • A valid G Ontario Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle for travel to operating facilities
  • Exceptional initiative and judgement to effectively organize, prioritize, and supervise daily tasks with a high level of proficiency, courtesy, tact, and diplomacy when dealing with others
  • Excellent ability to communicate technical information to colleagues in a clear and understandable manner
