Join us as a Manager, HS&E, within our Life Sciences & Technology Division

As a Manager, Health, Safety & Environment, these would be your responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and maintain specific HSE management system that supports compliance with the applicable federal, provincial and local laws, regulations, and codes for all company operations / assets.
  • Build tools and procedures that are effective and operations focused
  • Support incident reporting and investigations.
  • Compile, analyze, interpret, and report incidents trends to the Director HSE, operational project teams, and Area Senior Leaders.
  • Support building operations, working closely with the operational project team to ensure the project, employees, subcontractors and visitors comply with applicable HSE laws and regulations, including routine audits.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and business lines on best practices and innovative ideas that continually drive improvements.
  • Develop, initiatives, programs and tools to help support awareness and strengthen our culture.
  • Coach, mentor, and lead the Sr HSE Coordinator(s) and HSE Coordinator(s) in their role
  • Coach, mentor, and lead the site operational teams in implementing and maintaining a strong safety culture and program
  • Implement change as based on leading indicators and statistical metrics.
  • Report on the safety performance of project(s), identifying areas of strengths and weaknesses, trends and initiatives to reduce risk.
  • Collaborate and support the site Environmental team with the development and roll-out of practices, procedures and systems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and business lines on best practices and innovative ideas that continually drive improvements.

Is this the right role for you?

  • Minimum of seven (7) years related experience in construction, safety, environmental, or compliance including two (2) years leading an effective team. Experience in MEiT (mechanical / electrical / IT) projects, data centres or pharmaceutical construction preferred.
  • Solid understanding of HSE management systems, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiar with Safety Information Management Systems.
  • Possesses a high level of technical expertise, ability to apply skills to continuous process improvement while maintaining maximum levels of health, safety, environmental compliance
  • Excellent computer skills including the use of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
  • Possesses a Class G driver's license.
  • A strong leader with the desire to be a part of a company with an entrepreneurial spirit and a fast-paced, Client First, result-oriented culture
  • HSE degree or safety diploma

  • Safety designation such as CRSP, CHST, NCS
