Do you possess the ability to provide strong leadership by providing the strategic direction as well as the day-to-day management of the Engineering department. Reporting to the Senior Director, Building Operations the Senior Engineering Manager provides direction and ensures adherence to policies and departmental operational procedures. Responsible for overseeing the scheduling of preventative maintenance of all buildings and parking lots related to the Casino's facility. Verifying contractor work for on time completion and accuracy as well as ensuring contractual obligations are met. Facilitating open communication with Engineering Managers concerning the progress and status of all operational functions within the casino. The job involves:

  • Maintaining consistent, effective communication with Engineering Managers regarding departmental initiatives, schedules and events.
  • Responsibility for Capital Projects including identification of project needs, scope development, budget development, implementation, execution and operational impact.
  • Responsibility for the maintenance of all major building systems including Electrical, Mechanical, Life Safety, Audio Visual as well as the infrastructure of all buildings under the departments responsibility ensuring the standard of maintenance is set, understood and executed upon.
  • Cost controls, budget forecasting and monitoring of all fiscal activities.
  • The day-to-day planning and organization, cost management and development of results orientated initiatives in support of the Casino's business objectives.
  • Responsibility for all assets including but not limited to tools, vehicles and equipment.
  • Acting as a liaison between senior management and Engineering Managers, Engineering Supervisors and all LVL 1(trades), LVL 2 (apprentice) and LVL 3 (general maintenance).
  • Overseeing the overall management of the Facilities, Engineering department. This includes in-house training, monitoring all Health & Safety procedures as adhered to by provided training as covered by legislation.
  • Provide supervision and support to Engineering Associates including performance feedback.
  • Ensuring the standards of maintenance and condition of assets are in accordance with all applicable governing bodies requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of all activities and promotions occurring at our casino properties
  • Working independently and in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation.

The ideal candidate has:

  • University Degree in Engineering or equivalent in Engineering, Trades Certification an asset or comparable experience.
  • Minimum 5-8 years progressive management experience.
  • Project Management training or related experience.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft office programs, AutoCAD, MS Project, and Kronos).
  • Working knowledge of WHMIS and Health and Safety Act, valid Ontario Driver's License Class "G".
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to focus on results.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and pay strict attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills
