You, as a Maintenance Planner, will be:

  • Develop maintenance plans and set maintenance schedules in support of Maintenance and Engineering Teams requirements and available capacity.
  • Manage the CMMS with regards to the timely completion of workorders (PPMS, Demand Tasks, etc.), Asset Management, and the scheduling of tasks.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors to perform required services.
  • Review all contractor and internal service reports and provide relevant feedback to Plant Operations team. Assist in approval of quotes and recommended services
  • Meets with vendors and procurement team on a regular basis to review contract deliverables
  • Coordinate with client for approval on all planned works
  • Expedite and complete routine past due work orders follow up to support the Maintenance schedule
  • Generate work orders using CMMS
  • Develop and execute improvements to focus on inventory reduction and material shortages
  • Be responsible for gathering and reporting established planning metrics in support of the overall Facilities metrics.
  • Exercises initiative and independent judgment in adapting and applying procedures to address day-to-day activities
  • Have regular interactions with functional department staff heads and other internal stakeholders, as well as external relationships with suppliers, customers and other EllisDon employees as required
  • Consults with manager when making decisions regarding complex or unusual circumstances
  • Ad hoc duties

Is this the right role for you?

  • You have a post-Secondary Education in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain or related field
  • You have working knowledge of CMMS
  • An APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), SCMP designation, or similar designation is a strong asset.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Maintenance planning role within large facilities
  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, Access, etc.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and principles and working knowledge of Maintenance management preferred
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure in a high-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail
