You as a Casual Food Services Supervisor at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre, will be responsible for the daily activities of the Food Service Department to ensure that the nutritional needs of each client is met, and supervising the production of food which includes cooking/reheating, presentation, safety and sanitation and client satisfaction. The Supervisor ensures that the high quality services offered by the department are within established budget and existing legislative parameters. This supervisor will also assist in scheduling, labour relations, health and safety, and conflict resolution.


Is this the right role for you?

  • Food and Nutrition Management Diploma
  • Member in good standing with the CSNM (Canadian Society of Nutrition Management)
  • Valid advanced food safety training from a recognized institution
  • Minimum one (1) year relevant healthcare food service experience
  • Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with computerized menu systems (Computrition, CBORD, MealSuite, etc)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills(both oral and written)
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge of Therapeutic Diets
  • Ability to multitask
  • Experience working in a unionized environment
  • Ability to work harmoniously and demonstrate flexibility
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to a changing work environment
  • Willingness to take on new challenges
  • Ability to maintain high professional and ethical standards
