The Wireless Analytics & Data Engineering team is revolutionizing how TELUS manages our Wireless Networks through innovative data solutions. Our customer-driven team is responsible for developing robust, scalable, and agile data solutions that provide critical insights to our network teams, by transforming terabytes of unstructured data from various sources into actionable intelligence; our team also plays a crucial role in adopting AI/ML technologies for enhanced data management.

What you'll do


As Manager of the Wireless Analytics & Data Engineering team, you will:

  • Inspire, lead, and coach a highly engaged and performing team of data and cloud engineers and architects, support their professional development and steer the team's evolution to ensure it continues to thrive in a rapidly changing industry
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (in the RAN, Core, OSS and CIO teams among others) and with external partners (including our network equipment and professional service suppliers) to accelerate our data transformation journey
  • Lay out a clear vision for TELUS' wireless analytics and data management technology roadmap, and manage the execution and delivery of the associated projects
  • Manage critical resources, including Capital and Operational expenses, cloud infrastructure, and external service providers
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the cost effectiveness, performance and reliability of our wireless analytics and data solutions
  • Integrate the Wireless Network Analytics roadmap with other data and analytics initiatives across the organization


What you bring

  • 3+ years experience leading technically-oriented teams, with ability to coach, mentor, and foster professional growth and development
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and solutions
  • Working knowledge and understanding of wireless communication technologies, protocols and standards (3GPP, IETF)
  • Understanding of data governance best-practices, including data security, data quality, and data trust
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps engineering practices
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into simple clear terms
  • Known for your strength in collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field



Great-to-haves

  • Experience in Radio Access Network (RAN) performance management, capacity dimensioning and/or technology development and operations
  • Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform data management solutions (Big Query, Dataflow, Dataproc, Vertex AI) and data manipulation technologies
  • Experience in Big Data, data modelling, data architecture, data warehousing, ETL, and data analytics
  • Advanced technology or business degree (MSc, MBA)
