RFIC Design and Validation Co-op (12 month)

This RFIC Design and Validation Co-op will learn and participate in the design and validation of RFIC's and multichip modules for state-of-the-art mobile applications. Join the cutting edge Mobile Solutions team in developing technology for future mobile devices such as mobile phones, laptops, and mobile audio! You will work with and be mentored by the leading design engineers and collaborate with subject matter experts within Skyworks. In this role, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Working with experienced engineers to design/develop RFIC for Multi-chip modules
  • Contributing to the design and verification of low noise amplifiers (LNA), RF switches, couplers, filters, etc, using leading RF CMOS technologies.
  • Performing lab testing using RF test equipment in our state-of-the-art RF testing labs and performing data analysis to guide the design progression
  • Troubleshooting and resolving design or technical issues
  • Participating in design reviews
  • Running simulations using design tools such as Cadence Virtuoso
  • Collaborating with other engineers and technicians
  • Working with an expert mentor to learn and hone your skills and knowledge

Job Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering Bachelor's, Master's Degree, or PHD program, and must be returning to school after the completion of this Co-Op (will not consider graduated students). Candidate is preferred to have completed at least their 3rd year Electronics courses.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel with emphasis on data organization and presentation
  • Knowledge in RF parameters (insertion loss, return loss, s-parameters, harmonics, IMD, IIP2/3, VSWR, NF, etc.) is an asset
  • RFIC Design and Simulation experience will be a plus (i.e. Cadence)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Experience in using RF equipment such as oscilloscope, VNA, spectrum analyzer, RF sources is highly preferred
  • Strong desire to learn, grow, and make an impact
  • Willing to share knowledge and work with others
  • Strong career interest in RF/microwave engineering and RFIC design

Term Details

Must have the ability to work full time as a co-op during a 12 month term from January 2025 to December 2025. For qualified candidates, a term start of May 2025 (12 months) may be considered.

The typical pay range for an intern is currently CAD $25.00 - $44.00 per hour. Starting base pay will depend on level of education and the ultimate job duties and requirements.
