About the role

Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (Lockheed Martin) has a division called Enterprise Operations (EO) who provide the Corporation with Shared Services support, such as Information Technology (IT), Human Resources (HR), Supply Chain, Facilities, Communications, etc and have staff based all over the Globe. The International Supply Chain Team actively support all Indirect Procurements outside of the United States (US) and are looking to expand their support to Canada.

The candidate will be a member of the International Supply Chain team who have employees located in the United Kingdom (UK), Poland and Australia and now the opportunity has arisen to have an EO employee located in Canada. This team manages an annual spend of tens of millions of dollars on a variety of Hardware (HW), Software (SW) and services. Working on behalf of a variety of internal clients and external customers, this role requires the ability to respond with flexibility to a wide range of requirements and to keep the clients advised of the status of their orders. The nature of our business results in periods of increased workload when projects are ramping up and at fiscal year-end.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Support a range of indirect, non-product procurement activities including sourcing, negotiating and purchasing of materials, equipment, parts, services and supplies
  • Lead projects to rationalize services across the International landscape, such as SW consolidation activities
  • Verifying and managing the procurement processes through to delivery, including tracking orders, verifying delivery, approving payment, and maintaining necessary records
  • Enter procurement data records into the system/s of record and internal tracking tools in accordance with company processes and procedures
  • Liaise with external suppliers as required in a professional manner
  • Assist in the preparation of procurement data required by other stakeholders and management
  • Keep informed of price trends and assist in the evaluation of areas of opportunity to leverage material acquisitions
  • Work with Lockheed Martin Legal team to verify correct Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) to be used for Canadian and International procurements, draft new T&Cs where required
  • Develop solutions to a variety of complex problems and assist in the implementation of Effective Solutions. May refer to established precedents and policies
  • Comply with legislation and Company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, environment, safety, duty of care, and the quality management system

  • Establish and maintain appropriate working relationships, ensuring effective and professional interaction with Lockheed Martin management, employees, customers, contractors and suppliers

  • Work within multiple time zones
  • And any other duties as required from time to time.

What you bring to the role

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or University in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with six years of professional experience; or four years of professional experience with a related master’s degree
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • The ability to self-organize and work with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with the Materials Management (MM) functionality of Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) or an equivalent tier 1 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity SW.

Additional skills desired for the role

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Broad experience of indirect procurement in a large organization and will have a track record of identifying and delivering savings, efficiencies, and process improvements
  • Experience of procurement of IT HW, SW and services is an advantage.
