The Infrastructure Planning unit in the Asset Management branch is responsible for the planning and functional design of all growth-related infrastructure pertaining to water, wastewater and stormwater in the urban and rural areas, including the development, monitoring and updating of the City's Water and Wastewater Master Plans, environmental assessments, feasibility studies and functional designs, coordination of infrastructure planning, and data interpretation for modeling purposes.
You are responsible for the management of a wide range of engineering and geoscience assignments that cover the planning, modeling, environmental assessment and functional design of growth and renewal related water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects, including recommending priorities for funding of specific infrastructure initiatives.
Related activities include characterizing performance of existing infrastructure; developing, gathering and interpreting infrastructure performance and population/land use growth data; maintaining currency with new and innovative infrastructure planning/implementation/design, including financing methods; ensuring conformance of branch activities to legislated processes; coordinating branch activities with Official Plan updating requirements; monitoring adherence to Official Plan and Master Plans in infrastructure development; preparing submissions for capital project timing, budgets and Council reports; managing major consultant led projects; and providing sectional technical liaison with the other professionals in the corporation and external organizations such as Conservation Authorities and provincial ministries.
You also play a key role in helping to establish and subsequently fulfill the overall priorities and direction for water, wastewater and stormwater planning.
Unit Expertise: The focus of work may be in one or more of the following areas:
Completion of 4 year university degree in Engineering, Geoscience, or related field
Minimum of 8 years of related professional experience in water, wastewater and stormwater renewal and growth servicing planning and implementation
