Our Exciting Opportunity:

Location: Ottawa, Ontario



We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Radio Software Designer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing software solutions for radio communication systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software that meets the performance and reliability requirements of our products.

You will:

  • You'll be part of a software XFT, responsible for systems design, software development and test.
  • You get to ccollaborate with hardware engineers and system architects to define software requirements and system architecture for radio systems.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability. Identify and resolve defects in a timely manner.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior software engineers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies and contribute to the research and development of new software solutions and features; contribute to Innovation and Ericsson IPR, file Invention disclosures and Patents.
  • You will be completing required documentation related to design and test work.

The skills you bring:

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development for radio communication systems, with a strong understanding of radio protocols and standards.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and tools such as C/C++, Python, Java. C, C++, Shell scripting Assembler, Git, Gerrit, Linux as a development environment, Kernel
  • Experience in Software Object-Oriented Programming
  • Background in communications and digital signal processing
  • Signal Processing: Solid understanding of digital signal processing (DSP) concepts and techniques as they apply to radio communications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • The motivation to learn and constantly improve processes and tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
