We are actively seeking an accomplished CNC Programmer / Operator to join our team.

Responsible for safely and efficiently produce machined parts by means of programming, using Mastercam and/or Fusion, setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

A Programmer/Operator's core objective is to ensure CNC machines are properly utilized though optimizing programs and daily production runs using the approved design and engineering.

On-site equipment includes 3-axis CNC router, 5-axis CNC router and 3-axis HAAS mini-mill.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Plan machines by carefully studying work orders, drawings and other technical data.
  2. Program CNC by entering the instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
  3. Feed mechanism to be loaded by lifting stock into position.
  4. Verify the settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to standards.
  5. Specifications should be maintained by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  6. Adhere to safety procedures and regulations by maintaining safe operations.
  7. Complete preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs to maintain the equipment properly to avoid unwanted and alarming situations.
  8. Continuity to be maintained among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  9. Actions to be documented by completing production and quality logs.
  10. Proactive Participation in educational opportunities; reading technical publications to update job knowledge on ongoing basis to stay updated.
  11. Accept ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment to accomplish organizational goals.
  12. Other duties not specifically covered herein but otherwise assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE ETC:

  1. A minimum of 3-5 years' relevant CNC experience ideally including AutoCAD, CATIA, Fusion, Solidworks, and/or Mastercam experience (5-axis experience will be considered advantageous).
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of an MRP (Material Resources Planning) system strongly preferred; Corridor software a plus.
  1. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Computer Aided Design with an emphasis in Model Based Definition Drawings.
  2. Advanced mathematics, problem-solving, and computer skills and the ability to know how and when to use them.
  3. Key competencies related to working with a diverse group of individuals and departments are desirable.
  4. Frequent need to give concentrated attention, with one or two senses at a time, where stimuli are changing.
  5. Occasional direct and indirect pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.
  6. Willing to complete on the job training (OJT) in accordance with FCC Repair Station Manual.
  7. Willing to travel domestically and internationally when required.
