This project is located in: Red Lake, Ontario - Travel In & Out on a Rotational Schedule

You as a Mechanical and Electrical Superintendent will:

  • Plan, direct and coordinate on-site mechanical and electrical activities to comply with specifications, requirements and codes.
  • Coordinate all relevant drawings and information to eliminate interference problems
  • Provide direction during functional performance testing of all mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Assist Project Managers and Project superintendents in updating and achieving schedule requirements, mechanical and electrical RFI's and shop drawings and administrate mechanical/electrical project completion requirements.
  • Provide technical engineering information and interpretation of plans, detail sheets and specifications for contractors.
  • Report accurate quantities for labour cost reports and accurately monitor material ledgers to ensure quantities in estimate are sufficient to complete the project.
  • Find solutions to conflicts in structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications and follow-up with consultants and sub-trades to completion.
  • Ensure construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instruction.

Is this the right role for you?

  • You have a Trade Certificate and five to six years experience in one of the following trades: Welding, Electrical, Instrumentation, Gas Fitting, or Plumbing.
  • You have a working knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering systems, principles and practices.
  • Must have Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate, WHMIS 2015, Ground Disturbance Level II, and Leadership for Safety Excellence
  • Software is heavily used within the organization processes; the candidate must have strong computer skills and have previous experience working with software programs such as: Microsoft Office (Excel), and Proprietary Software.
  • You have the ability to proactively identify and document any problems/conflicts and effectively manage and resolve them.
  • You have a working knowledge surveying techniques, surveying equipment standards and procedures.
  • You have the ability to conceptualize drawings and identify potential construction conflicts.
  • Communicate with superintendents and project managers
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel is required with this position; candidate must have a valid drivers license, and a reliable means of transportation. A driver's abstract is required and must be obtained no more than 30 days prior to employment start date.
