What to Expect

We are seeking a hands-on Facilities Technician with experience in building maintenance, general labor tasks, and facility repairs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling and performing maintenance on building systems, handling general upkeep, and performing repairs to ensure the facility operates safely and efficiently. This role involves a mix of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and direct collaboration with vendors and contractors. You will report directly to the Facilities Manager.

What You'll Do
  • Perform routine facility rounds to identify maintenance needs, safety issues, and areas requiring repairs or upkeep
  • Schedule and perform maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, and keep accurate records to ensure smooth operation
  • Handle facilities-related repairs such as patching, drywall work, painting, replace ceiling tiles, and other minor repairs throughout the building as required
  • Carry out general labour activities, including equipment setup, moving furniture, and exterior maintenance as needed
  • Coordinate and supervise vendors and contractors during repairs, upgrades, and maintenance projects. Ensure work meets safety and quality standards
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring the facility remains operational and disruptions are minimized
  • Collaborate with internal departments like Environmental Health & Safety, Manufacturing, and Engineering to coordinate and support operational requirements as needed
What You'll Bring
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in facilities maintenance or related fields
  • Ability to perform physical labor, lifting at least 50 lbs. Must be able to climb ladders/stairs, work in constrained spaces, and work in loud environments
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication, coupled with strong attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Self-directed and able to work toward specific goals and objectives with limited oversight, while demonstrating strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite
  • Forklift and aerial equipment operation experience preferred
