  • This position provides the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays each week, with the requirement to report to the primary NOVA Chemicals work location on Tuesdays through Thursdays. Employees can opt out of the hybrid schedule and will be expected to work Monday-Friday from the primary work location.

NOVA Chemicals, headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is wholly-owned by Mubadala Investment Company of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

We are seeking a Business Process Analyst to join our IT Product Delivery team. In this role you will collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to understand and improve current processes, develop business cases for future recommendations, and ensure alignment between business and IT teams. You will lead efforts in process intelligence and optimization, perform data analysis, and develop metrics to monitor improvements.

You Will Use Your Expertise To:

  • Work closely with business leaders, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to understand current state processes, validate and quantify the value of the opportunity being assessed, and develop a business case around future state recommendations for different business functions.
  • Facilitate cross-functional discussions between business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure alignment on project objectives and technical integration.
  • Collect data and perform data analysis to support validation of potential opportunity value.
  • Support business case development including detailed costs and benefits along with associated risks and risk mitigation plans.
  • Process Intelligence: Lead efforts to integrate/implement process intelligence to identify gaps in the business processes as compared to best practices.
  • Process Optimization: Leverage best practices to drive continuous process improvement initiatives across the organization. Analyze complex business problems and propose innovative, technology-driven solutions.
  • Develop process metrics and KPIs to monitor and measure the effectiveness of process improvements.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications for IT solutions, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Continuously improve and manage NOVA Chemicals' investment in process management and analysis toolsets.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent with 8+ years related experience and continued professional development OR 12+ years combination of post-secondary education and related experience with continued professional development.
  • Certification in Business Analysis and/or Process Management is preferred (CBAP®,PMI-PBA®, CBPP ®, etc.).
  • Relevant SAP certifications in business analysis or process management is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of data integration and enterprise systems.
  • Strong understanding of the SAP ecosystem and Architecture.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering practical solutions.
  • Familiarity with the plastics or chemical manufacturing industries is highly desirable.
  • Experience with process management tools, preferably Signavio, and process mapping/optimization.

  • Relocation will be considered to the nearest geographical NOVA Chemicals' location for this position
  • Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
  • This role requires up to 10% travel
