As a Field Specialist, under direct supervision receives and follows specific detailed instructions. Carries out all required responsibilities safely as described in Managing Base Operations, Managing Well Operations and Managing Equipment and Logistics manuals. Conducts all business activities in accordance with Baker Hughes HSE policies, Legal Compliance requirements and Baker Hughes Core Values.

As a Field Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Provide ongoing Cased Hole support in the field
  • Ability to work well and communicate well with others.
  • Preparing for jobs and performing tool maintenance, pre-job and post- job tool checkout at the workshop and at the wellsite
  • Supervise and assist in the preparation of the unit and calibration of equipment
  • Supervise Operators during the service of mechanical devices, building logging cable heads, perforating cable heads and general tool and equipment maintenance
  • Job load out, safe and efficient wellsite job execution
  • Promoting a team environment while providing wireline services in the shop and at the well site
  • Working with Customer Representative to promote good customer relations
  • Maintain wellsite records, communications, completing job-related paperwork and other records for self and assigned collateral duties
  • Providing general supervision and training to team members while maintaining a high level of safety and awareness at the well site
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulations applicable to Wireline service operations
  • Driving company vehicles in a safe manner while observing Company and government regulations
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • Maximize safety standards and awareness as per Baker Hughes policies
  • Maximize operating efficiency
  • Care for Baker Hughes assets

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Two-year technical college degree for Specialist position OR Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university for the Engineer position.
  • 2-5 years of Oilfield experience, wireline preferred
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Must have class 5 or higher drive license in Canada (Class G an asset)
  • Must live close to commutable distance to Sarnia, Ontario CA
