The Aerostructure Market of Héroux-Devtek focuses on a complete line of precision machined structural components and assemblies, from simple aluminum parts to large monolithic five-axis complex components.

Summary of position:

We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer. This is a permanent, full time position reporting to the Engineering Manager.

Salary Range: $70,000-$75,000

Main responsibilities:

• Conduct reviews and creates production planning for products by reviewing the required specifications, documented best
manufacturing practices, and co-orientating with key personnel to determine the most effective and efficient methods of
production.
• Initiate APQP & PFMEA activities to identify and mitigate risk in the product manufacturing process flow.
• Conduct time study activities to identify and eliminate any inefficiencies in the manufacturing activities.
• Create and update manufacturing drawings that define the required dimensions and GD&T.
• Create Operation Detail Sheets (ODS) required for optimized efficiency, repeatability, and quality of work
performed by the production floor.
• Create 3D models of assemblies, tooling, and fixtures using SolidWorks or Catia V5.
• Utilize a strong sense of ingenuity to accomplish tooling design for manufacturing within the brazing /
bonding process.
• Foresee and identify potential production and manufacturing problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Interact with the production floor personnel to identify improvement initiatives and optimize the efficiency
of production.
• Satisfy customer requirements and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements while meeting the
requirements of the AS9100D standard.

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES

• 5-S and cleaning/maintaining of work area cleanliness.
• Adherence to all company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND REQUIRED

• Degree or Diploma in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• Highly computer literate.


WORK EXPERINCE REQUIRED

• 3+ years of full-time experience in an Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering environment.
• Strong solid modelling skills in SolidWorks and / or Catia V5.
• Sound knowledge of aerospace manufacturing techniques and methods (knowledge of NADCAP considered an asset).

• Sound knowledge of APQP & PFMEA processes.
• Experience with MRP software (i.e. Baan, SAP, MES, Oracle) for production and material planning is a strong asset.
• Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing principals and continuous improvement as related to aerospace industry
production.
• Knowledge / experience with heat treatment and brazing is considered a strong asset.
