The Mechanical Designer is responsible for design and execution of assigned projects through all stages of milestone development, taking direction and assignments from Project Leader within product group. Appling engineering principles to assist in the design, development, testing, and manufacturing of mechanical systems and products. This role involves working closely with engineers, technicians, and other professionals to solve engineering problems, improve existing systems, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions. Job Duties |
|
§ Design and detail required drawings by first developing concepts, do required research, computation and analysis as needed § Assist in the creation and modification of mechanical designs using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Inventor). § Create, using the latest CAD software, all necessary machine shop detail drawings, mechanical components, sub-assembly, and assembly drawings including BOM § Support engineers in project planning, scheduling, and resource management. § Assist with cost estimation and budgeting for materials and labor. § Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. § Help resolve technical issues that arise during the production process. § Examine mechanical installations and construction projects. § Prepare contract and tender documentation. § Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements during product fabrication. § Conduct tests and experiments to validate designs and prototypes. § Provide support in troubleshooting mechanical issues and system failures. § Collect, analyze, and report data from physical tests to optimize designs. § Ensure engineering specifications and other documents are stored accurately and at appropriate location as per engineering procedures § Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational programs and review of engineering publications § Ensure designs are released on time to meet M7 release dates § Respond to issues related to designs for manufacturing, assembly, and testing on a timely basis § Process Engineering Change Requests on a timely basis to ensure errors are not repeated § Collaborate with the Project Leader and co-workers to ensure engineering procedures are followed and quality designs are released to accomplish personal, departmental and company goals § Maintain effective and ongoing communication with other Mechanical, Electrical and Tooling engineering during the design process § Follow departmental procedures required by ISO and actively participate in recommending improvements |

Job Requirements (Education, Knowledge & Skill) |

§ An engineering degree or related undergraduate degree § Three (3) years engineering experience working in capital equipment company with design responsibility § Ability to create concept designs, detail drawings using latest company used CAD and Analysis programs § Able to analyze and solve engineering problems § Knowledge and ability to use Finite Element Analysis programs § Knowledge of company products and manufacturing processes |

§ Dynamic and fast paced environment, meeting deadlines within time constraints which may result in working additional hours § The physical working condition is typical of an office and manufacturing environment that contains of noise, dust, and fumes along with long periods of desk and computer work § The incumbent must be able to work independently in a changing work environment. The incumbent might be required to travel to customers, suppliers, and other company facilities from time to time. |
