Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Prepare the design and complete load calculations, schematics, equipment selection and system concept report
• Prepare the contract documents including the specifications
• Evaluate shop drawing reviews
• Ensure ASHRAE and LEED compliance where applicable
• Manage projects from design through construction
• Coordinate with other disciplines both internally and externally
• Direct, review, and approve project design changes
• Engage in meetings with clients, contractors, and other consultants regarding project reports and findings
• Provide expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems
• Create technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches
• Perform calculations, create specifications, and equipment selection

Qualifications & Requirements

• Post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant discipline required.
• Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng) required.
• 5+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings.
• Strong background knowledge in Building Design with an emphasis on mechanical systems (HVAC/Plumbing/Fire Protection).
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with the LEED accreditation process is an asset.
