The ideal applicant will have 4-7 years of demonstrated experience in the project management, design and contract administration of municipal water and sewage pumping station projects including both facility (pumping stations, sewage pumping stations, and treatment facilities) and linear transmission (sewers and watermains, road restorations) components.


Duties:

  • Responsible for leading projects involving municipal water and wastewater pumping stations and supporting linear infrastructure.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, regulatory and utility agencies, stakeholders, and contractors.
  • Oversee the preparation of engineering reports, calculations, specifications, process narrative, drawings, permit / approvals applications, and operations manuals, including application of P.Eng. seal, for the process mechanical discipline.
  • Manage and coordinate with interdisciplinary design teams.
  • Mentor and develop junior technical engineering staff.
  • Plan project and proactively manage scope, schedule, budget and risks during project delivery.
  • Ensure the highest standards of quality and prompt delivery of project outputs to satisfy the client's requirements.
  • Contribute to the preparation of engineering proposals.
  • Contribute to a team environment that supports RVA's core values.
  • Maintain and grow client relationships, and actively participate in water industry associations and organizations.
  • Other duties as assigned and appropriate for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering designation in Ontario
  • Minimum 4 years of demonstrated industry knowledge and experience in the design and construction of municipal water / sewage infrastructure projects including water pumping stations, sewage pumping stations, watermains, sewers, etc
  • Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills
  • be a team builder with flexibility to be able to adjust to changing priorities
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Municipal and Private client contacts and relationships, and experience in engineering consultant roles are an asset
  • PMP Certification is an asset
