Support RVA's Environmental Planning Team on Transportation and Municipal Infrastructure projects in the southwestern Ontario Region.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Municipal Transportation and Water/Wastewater Class EAs,
  • Prepare documentation for municipal and provincial (MTO, Metrolinx) Class EAs
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals for various pursuits.
  • Coordinate with RVA's Environmental Planners and other internal and external technical staff on technical studies and preparation of environmental assessment documentation.
  • Coordinate with sub-consultants; liaise with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate and lead public consultation and stakeholder engagement, including Indigenous Communities.
  • Analyze and incorporate input from multi-disciplinary teams and subconsultants into the selection and evaluation of recommendation of alternative solutions.
  • Occasional travel to project sites and other offices throughout southwestern Ontario.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree or similar qualifications in geography, environmental studies, environmental science, planning or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in completing Municipal, Provincial and Transit Environmental Assessments in Ontario.
  • Strong technical, writing and presentation skills.
  • Applied knowledge of Teams, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Applied use of GIS software a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Transportation, Transit, and Municipal Infrastructure.
  • Environmental Professional (EP), Registered Professional Planner (RPP), and/or Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP) professional designation (Provisional, student or full member) preferred.
  • Full understanding of local, provincial and federal environmental policies, legislation and applicable law.
  • Driver's license to travel to various sites and offices an asset.
