The ideal candidate will provide preventative maintenance and repairs to facilities, equipment and machines related to product manufacturing, including basic problem solving and troubleshooting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, minor electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment, machines and facilities
• Performs emergency / unscheduled repairs of production and packaging equipment
• Performs scheduled maintenance inspections and repairs of production and packaging equipment
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals, engineering drawings, work orders, and other information sources, to perform required maintenance and servicing
• Responsible for preparing a preventative maintenance schedule
• Responsible for knowing and following all Standard Operating Procedures, OSHA, DSI, and Site Safety and Health rules including maintaining a safe-work environment by enforcing a strict standard of housekeeping in the immediate and surrounding work areas utilizing 5S principles.
• Communicates with co-workers, management, customers and others in a courteous and professional manner.
• Accepts guidance and constructive feedback from fellow and senior staff.
• Troubleshoots presses, furnaces, threaders. conveyors, saws and automated production lines
• Uses lathes, mills, welders and grinders to aid in repairs and maintenance
• Works closely with Operations Manager/Production & Maintenance Supervisor on various projects and preventative maintenance
• Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
• Completes other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

• 2-3 years' experience troubleshooting in an industrial environment
• Previous related experience in a production or manufacturing facility
• Familiarity with MSDS of the chemicals used in our processes
• Solid hands-on experience in hydraulics and pneumatics
• Familiarity with electrical, instrumentation and control systems

EDUCATION

• High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate
• Journeyman Industrial Mechanic-Millwright Certificate
