You as a Civil Assistant Project Manager will:

  • Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in planning for and tracking progress of field work
  • Tracking of quantities completed and reconciliation and processing of the monthly invoice
  • Review and analysis of any Subcontractor request for changes
  • Technical reviews of the design to identify and resolve constructability concerns and conflicts
  • Organize and chair Subcontractor meetings, and ensure that Subcontractors are aware of the project's expectations and requirements
  • Review Subcontractor RFI's and confirm accuracy prior to issuance to Consultants and try to work towards a resolution; coordinate meetings between Subcontractors and Consultants to resolve any complex issues that may exist; monitor and follow up for response in a timely manner
  • May have been delegated responsibility to directly manage one or multiple Subcontractors or specific portion of a project
  • Conduct quality control activities, inspection programs and periodic updating of construction progress records
  • Specification and scope of work review, to ensure all documentation is identified, received and reviewed prior to work commencing
  • Organize and manage regular Inspection & Testing on site as well as the QA/QC program in conjunction with the project Consultants and Third Party Inspection & Testing Companies
  • Have an understanding and assists in the application and collection of required permits, licenses and approvals from the environmental jurisdiction having authority
  • Involvement in design management

Is this the right role for you?

  • You have a construction related degree and a minimum of 6 years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
  • Experience working on MTO projects and knowledge of OPSS is required.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling, project management, and contract software
