Leads and oversees Global Payment Operations (GPO) - Intercompany Transactions in Canada, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge​​​​​​
  • Leads a team that supports intercompany transactions, including monthly charge-outs and accrual recommendations for International and Canadian subsidiaries.
  • Investigates intercompany billing disputes and tracks them to resolution
  • Follows-up with International / Canadian subsidiaries Finance personnel to address outstanding intercompany settlement balances.
  • Facilitates discussions between International/ Canadian subsidiary Finance personnel with relevant business line users.
  • Prepares and maintains operational procedures related to intercompany transactions.
  • Monitors operational efficiency and effectiveness through the development, maintenance, and regular reporting of Intercompany Settlement KPIs/KRIs.
  • Contributes to the maintenance of SOX PD & RCM documentation.
  • Collaborates within GPO team members on continuous improvement projects.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • University degree in finance or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in banking, financial services, with a proven track record of success in driving excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • A proactive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage/,prioritize multiple tasks, and work effectively under pressure.
