Salary: $19.63 to $24.54 per hour (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)

Position Summary

As an integral member of the Education Technologies & Media Services (ETMS) team, the Audiovisual Assistant II is responsible for assisting the AV Specialist with distributing, setting up, and dismantling audiovisual (AV) equipment across University Health Network (UHN) sites and offsite locations. The role also involves troubleshooting and maintaining AV equipment, keeping an up-to-date inventory, and supporting other related AV tasks as required. Additional duties include cross-functional tasks as assigned or requested.

Duties

  • Distribution, Setup, and Dismantling of Audiovisual Equipment
    • Assist AV Specialist with the distribution, setup, and dismantling of AV equipment across UHN departments and offsite locations.
    • Handle incoming inquiries and bookings, and notify appropriate personnel.
    • Set up and dismantle AV equipment, ensuring proper testing and operational functionality.
    • Distribute equipment to various departments and locations.
    • Support AV Specialist with video and still camera operation as needed.
    • Assist with lighting setups and video editing tasks as required.
  • Troubleshooting and Equipment Maintenance
    • Inspect and test AV equipment regularly.
    • Report equipment issues to the AV Specialist.
    • Provide on-site support for minor equipment repairs when possible.
  • Inventory Maintenance
    • Conduct CRB inventories and document equipment usage, notifying the AV Specialist of any shortages or deficiencies.
    • Perform AV stock inventories as requested.
  • Cross-Functional Duties and Additional Support
    • Assist with internal chargebacks and external billing processes.
    • Provide after-hours and off-site support for special events as required.
  • Occupational Health & Safety Compliance
    • Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies, and contraventions of the Act in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • At a minimum, completion of high school, with post-secondary education in Audio Visual Technology, Electronics, or a related field preferred.
  • At minimum, over 2 year and up to 5 years practical and related experience
