As part of the ONxpress consortium, Alstom is proudly working to transform the collective mobility of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas (GTHA) through the On-Corridor Works project, and we are hiring for hundreds of roles. The GO Expansion scope: new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.

Objective

  • Develop in BIM environment of Turnkey activities in support of one or several Bid/Projects, in close cooperation with the Interface and subsystem teams.
  • Provide guidance to the Subsystem design and BIM teams ensuring delivery and quality of the documentation in compliance project BIM execution plan.
  • Ensure the application of EHS policies, local regulations, and professional standards

Responsibilities

  • Implement project-specific standards and the BIM Execution Plan.
  • Produce CAD detail drawings and create BIM models in accordance with project BIM requirements.
  • Assess Civil inputs in terms of quality and usability and provide these inputs for subsystem design development.
  • Ensure subsystem BIM models comply with BIM Execution Plan requirements.
  • Coordinate internally between subsystems and with other civil partners on the project.
  • Attend and lead coordination meetings with subsystems and civil partners.
  • Create and maintain the federated model, including subsystem models and Civil partner models.
  • Ensure proper use and updates of BIM guidelines and processes throughout the design process.
  • Manage tools used for design development, coordination, and collaboration.
  • Enforce the application of the model development schedule defined by the System BIM Manager and Project Engineering Manager.
  • Share applicable baselines throughout the project teams.
  • Support the BIM Manager in the deployment of the BIM solution.
  • Continuous improvement:
    • Contribute to best practices definition and REX within the Product Line
    • Participate to Process / "Metier" improvement workgroup when requested, to propose update/improvement of the IE way of working, process, tools and RefLib
    • Report anomalies versus the reference library and / or the local standard and propose any improvement or evolution

Performance measurements

  • Keep up to date the list of BIM models and their status,
  • Contribute to the enforcement of good practices within the BIM and design teams.
  • Perform reporting of design development and clash management status to the System BIM Manager and interface Manager.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in architecture or Engineering or equivalent education

BIM and/or AutoCAD Certification

Hand on experience of using Revit, Civil 3D Navisworks ,ProjectWise and Autodesk construction cloud ACC and GIS.

3+ year's production experience in design, coordination, drafting or engineering (Project and/or construction experience appreciated)
