As the Civil Design Manager, you will be responsible to manage the design and designers of Civil Infrastructure such as Roadways, Pavement, Utilities and Electrical. As a key member of the team, you will also be involved in the construction aspect of ensuring compliance of the Design team and the construction team and being involved in the procurement process, including reviewing bid packages to ensure they are technically compliant.
Job Responsibilities:
• Supporting, understanding and advising the client of their obligations in the various phases of development regarding fixed facilities design.
• Ensuring design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales.
• Eliminating health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction.
• Encouraging and inspiring design consultants to produce their best work using their full flair, experience, resources and talents in a cost-effective way.
• Management of the design process using commercial, contractual, schedule awareness and technical expertise.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Minimum 15 years experience in civil design or engineering field.
• Registered Engineer or eligible to be registered in Canada.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to interpret technical plans and specifications.
• Knowledge of Bluebeam, AutoCAD, 3-D Modelling is an asset.
• Knowledge of Construction Supervision.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of building codes and construction standards.
• Must be able to lead groups or teams.
• Must be able to conduct meetings with all representations within a project and be able to effectively moderate and negotiate the meeting.
• Valid drivers licence.
