Join the RBC Technology & Operations team as the Director of Enterprise Architecture Governance. In this influential role, you will collaborate with architects and leaders across business lines, drive the adoption of composable architecture, shaping our security architecture and ensure that our enterprise architecture aligns with risk and regulatory strategies.
What will you do?
Lead Governance in Enterprise and Security Architecture: Direct the development and implementation of governance models for enterprise architecture with a focus on security, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with regulatory standards.
Establish and Refine Governance Frameworks: Craft and refine governance frameworks that encompass both enterprise and security architecture. Set clear guidelines, standards, and policies that dictate the secure and strategic development of the organization's IT infrastructure.
Enhance Regulatory Alignment: Develop strategies to align enterprise architecture with risk and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with standards such as FFIEC and OSFI.
Oversee Compliance and Risk Management: Vigilantly monitor compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal standards for both enterprise and security architecture. Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risks, thereby protecting the organization's information assets.
Drive Architecture Discovery and Validation: Collaborate on real-time architecture discovery; author patterns for data protection, identify and access management, application and infrastructure security; and implement automated validation processes to maintain up-to-date documentation.
Monitor and Report Architecture Compliance: Ensure the integrity of enterprise architecture by updating the CMDB, conducting automated reviews, and responding to deviations and audits in partnership with the Risk team.
Advocate for Integrated Architectural Strategies: Promote the integration of security considerations into the broader enterprise architecture strategy, ensuring that security is a foundational component of all architectural decisions.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-Have:
Proven Experience: 8+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, enterprise security architecture, and familiarity with architectural frameworks.
Strategic Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive strategy, influence stakeholders, and manage high-level architectural initiatives.
Security Knowledge: Proficient in one or more security domains including Data Protection, Identity and Access Management, Cyber Threat Management, Infrastructure Security etc.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to the financial industry, including FFIEC and OSFI standards.
Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to effectively articulate architectural concepts and strategies.
Educational Background: A degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field with a focus on enterprise security architecture or technology governance.
Nice-to-Have:
Industry Certifications: Certifications in security architecture (e.g., CISSP, CISM) or related fields.
Risk Management Acumen: Experience with risk assessment methodologies and the ability to integrate risk management into architectural practices.
Change Management: Skills in leading organizational change to adopt new architectural standards and practices.
Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with EA tools and software that support architecture discovery and documentation automation.
Collaborative Approach: A track record of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, product management, and application development.
