The GO Expansion scope: new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.

Responsibilities

In compliance to EHS (Zero Deviation) and Regulatory standards, the Installation Design Engineer executes the Installation Engineering (IE) activities, in coordination with the other team members and Project Installation Engineering Leader, including:

  • Prepare and Execute IE (Installation Engineering) activities (Drawings, documentation, specification, Work Method Statement, etc.) in support of one or several Bids / Projects
  • Ensure the delivery of the drawings in accordance with the project execution requirements: customer, installation subcontractor, local quality regulation, project drawing templates, etc.
  • Support the Field team (Installation Supervisors, Sig Project Site Managers, Sig Installation team Leaders, etc.) to understand and review the deliverables and prepare design modification or change requests following inputs from site
  • Review the interface drawings (e.g. Station building drawings, track layout drawings, etc.) and provide Sig equipment requirement for space allocation & applicable cable trunking
  • Prepare Installation material specifications & Installation BoQ
  • Support the Project Installation Manager, Site Operations Manager, Field Operations Manager during the preparation of the Field quality dossier for Handover
  • Prepare as-built documentation and ensures conformity with as-installed configuration
  • Perform Site Surveys during preparation and execution phase (if necessary)
  • Liaise with BIM Coordinators and BIM Modelers to coordinate common IE studies and deliverables
  • Ensure application of Digital & Integrated Systems Installation and Field Operations Process for IE activities
  • Interface with Application Design and/or local Engineer for verification / validation of the drawings
  • Ensure the correct storage and maintenance of the drawings into the project repository
  • Alert if any concerns may impact the QCD deliverables
  • Ensure application of Digital & Integrated Systems Installation and Field Operations Process for Installation Engineering activities

Performance measurements

  • IE deliverables meeting Projects QCD targets

Experience & Education

  • Electrical Engineering degree level
  • P. Eng certification or in progress desired
  • Proficient with AutoCAD drafting
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical design (Project and/or construction experience appreciated)
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Minimum knowledge of Railway products and services on different market segments (Urban, Mainline, F&M) desirable
  • Minimum knowledge of BIM procedures and tools desirable
  • Ability to walk on uneven ground, carry tools and work outside in adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and/or Holidays per project requirements
